Rock Throwers

I read last week on HaModia that the “security forces” “busted” a rock-throwing gang on Route 443. It was led by two Arab adults and consisted of many Arab youths, all from one near the highway village. Bravo. But the question needs to be asked, if this was so simple to figure out, why was this action not taken before? As the article says, the gang “was responsible for damages of many millions of shekels,” and for causing fear and injury to hundreds of drivers.

Why is this the threshold it takes to get the Israeli Police to move? Why isn’t one rock thrown enough?

But it is still a good step. Much of this summer the Police “tolerated” people throwing rocks at Jews and Jewish buildings in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Armon HaNetziv. Then, this fall, two Arabs from that same rock-throwing neighborhood next door got on a bus in Armon HaNetziv with guns and started shooting people.

The more the Police sit passively, the more we suffer.
